Clearfleau, designs and builds anaerobic digestion systems for treatment of liquid bio-waste and renewable energy generation. These high-rate anaerobic digestion systems operate on a confined footprint and convert organic materials into biogas. The energy generated from the biogas can be used back in the factory reducing the carbon footprint of the site. This novel approach to treating liquid effluents can handle materials like sugars, oils and fats, as well as reject product or ingredients. The renewable energy generated can be used to replace fossil fuels, while providing increased treatment efficiency and significant cost savings. Post treatment, cleansed effluent can be discharged to sewer at much reduced cost. The process can be extended to allow cleansed liquids to be recycled as grey water. Clearfleau’s technology is suited to applications in dairy, food, distillery and other industrial sectors. For further information please visit www.clearfleau.com
The Processing and Packaging Machinery Association Group is a group of three leading trade associations in the processing and packaging machinery, robotics, automation and industrial vision sectors. Over 70% of our membership companies are in the food sector.
The PPMA also runs the largest Processing and Packaging Machinery Exhibition in the UK and the 2014 show will feature the Government’s recently appointed Groceries Code Adjudicator speaking on how she is addressing the unfair practices that some of the major supermarkets subject suppliers to. This has a direct effect on food sector investment in automation. The adjudicator would also like to hear from any food manufacturer experiencing problems and this can be done completely anonymously at the show at one to one clinics after her speech.
The PPMA Show will host over 320 exhibitors demonstrating the latest technology in food sector processing and packaging machinery, robotics and Industrial vision. Over 8,000 visitors will attend and the show will be opened by former Government Cabinet Minister Michael Portillo. Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, September 30 – 2 October 2014, the adjudicator will speak on Tuesday 30th September at 11am just after the opening address by Michael Portillo. Greener For Life
With a growing population, people’s access to safe, nutritious food with a known provenance and our use of the earth’s resources will increasingly be an issue.
Greener for Life Foods is unique in its ability to improve the green credentials of the entire food supply chain.
Growing, manufacturing, processing, packing and transporting food requires substantial energy consumption. Our supply of knowledge, equipment and funding, whether you’re installing an anaerobic digester or simply switching to LED light bulbs, is unrivalled. It provides scope to reduce the carbon footprint of each and every part of the food supply chain – no matter which part of the chain you are in.
Once a threshold of CO2e savings are made within the supply chain producers and suppliers can become Greener for Life Accredited. Greener for Life labelled foods then demonstrate sustainable production. This offers consumers a green choice with lower carbon footprint foods which show a genuine reduced impact on the environment – while giving the potential for added value within the supply chain.
