Dr. Waleed Montasser – IREEMS – Event Chairman
Dr. Waleed Montessori is an international consultant with over 15 years in environmental management. Waleed is the Director of IREEMS Ltd, which provides resource efficiency audits for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), zero waste and behavioural change as well as advice on waste treatment technologies. Waleed had worked with various organisations in the UK such as DEFRA, WRAP and other well as well other environmental representative organisations, and internationally such as UNIDO, HP as well as Egyptian Environmental Affairs agency (EEAA).
Prior to that Waleed has worked at the University of Northampton to work on various research project related to wastes and resources management. In addition, he had his PhD on the business case of new waste management technologies in England and Wales. Waleed is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), Chartered Waste Manager of Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), member of International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and Full member of Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA). He also has various publications in peer reviewed journal and industry magazine.
Padraig Brennan holds the position of Sustainability Development Manager in Bord Bia.
He has been part of the team involved in the development and implementation of Bord Bia’s Origin Green Sustainability programme, which sets out to demonstrate the sustainability credentials of the Irish food and drink industry at both farm and manufacturing level.
Origin Green is the first programme of its kind to be rolled out on a national scale. From its launch in the second half of 2012 more than 430 Irish food and drink companies have registered their participant with almost 80% of Ireland’s food and drink exports covered by verified members of the programme while more than almost 40,000 farms are undertaking sustainability assessments annually.
Padraig is from a family farming background, holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from University College Dublin (UCD) and a Masters in Business Development from the University of Western Australia.
Silver Hill Farms (UK) – Una Donohoe – Marketing Advisor
Degree qualified in Engineering, Úna then spent a number of years working at the cold face of the food industry, as a chef in Ireland and overseas. Her analytical and problem solving mind-frame combined with her understanding and passion for quality produce see her working with a number of Irish food companies in the UK through Bord Bia. Úna’s success in pinpointing market opportunities and efficient route to market strategies for her clients’ long term growth have consistently been routed in the importance of sustainable, responsible and efficient production.

Silver Hill Farms (UK) – Barry Cullen
Originally from Co. Fermanagh, Barry has worked in various roles within the FMCG Food Industry for the last 17 years.
The majority of this time was spent during his 12 years with the world renowned Kerry Group in various Sales and Marketing roles.
Barry has been with Silver Hill Foods as Head of Sales and International Development now for the last Three years.
He has been closely involved in the company’s participation in the Origin Green project and is responsible for the communication of this message to all Silver Hills Customers.
Loughborough University – Dr. James Colwill – Lecturer in Sustainable Manufacturing
James has a PhD in Biopolymer Engineering and lectures in Sustainable Manufacturing at Loughborough University. He is a lead investigator/researcher in three national research centres: Industrial Sustainability; Sustainable Food Manufacturing; and Energy from Biomass. His current research interests include: food supply chain resilience, biopolymers, re-manufacturing, social and environmental LCA and dispersive renewable energies. James has over 20 years industry experience consulting in the food and drink sector for many of the world’s leading brands; delivering new product/pack innovations and implementing strategic and operational change. With a number of previous patents and start-up enterprises to his name, James is currently managing director of 3DPrint Innovations Ltd and serves on board of the IOM3’s Packaging Division.
Bolling Coffee – Eamonn Diver – Engineering Manager
Eamonn holds the position of Engineering Manager at Bewley’s manufacturing facility in North county Dublin. He is responsible for all Engineering & Energy requirements within the production facility at Bewley’s, key responsibilities of my include;
Eamonn has over 20 years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry with a BEng in Engineering Systems Maintenance and BSc in Electrical Services & Energy Management. He has a passion for energy efficiencies and the environment awareness.
Robin Limb – Independent Agriculture Consultant
Robin Limb is now an independent consultant having previously worked for 33 years within the agricultural division of British Sugar. Apart from extensive knowledge of agriculture and sugar beet in particular, Robin was heavily involved with sustainability evolution within the beet sugar sector, working to create line of sight between sugar beet growers and major customers such as Coca-Cola and Mondelez. Robin is a firm believer in the need for companies of all products to embrace the positive aspects of sustainability, but especially in the food sector. Having had first-hand experience of the journey which companies need to embark upon in validating their sustainability credentials, Robin is highly aware of the pitfalls and negativity that can arise when customers appear to be adding yet one more requirement and cost to suppliers’ contracts. In his spare time Robin enjoys freelance journalism and public speaking within his chosen areas of expertise. Robin is domiciled in Hunstanton on the Norfolk coast but networks across the whole of the UK arable sector as requirements dictate.

As an expert and advisor in the area of energy/carbon management, John has delivered seminars, workshops and training courses internationally on sustainable energy management (ISO 50001); is co-author of energy management systems – an Implementation Guide & an Audit Guide and of “Energy Managment, Practices and Principles” a MEUC and British Gas publication.
With a background in science, John has been involved in arena of business risk management system design, implementation, maintenance and audit for the past 15 years. This has included the standards in the following areas:
